Key Technology of Primary Superhydrophobic Filter Media for Semi-Dry Desulfurization

On March 8, 2023, the Anhui Environmental Protection Industry Association held a technical achievement appraisal meeting in Maanshan to evaluate the "Key Technology and Industrialization Application of Primary Superhydrophobic Filter Media for HELA Semi-Dry Desulfurization," developed by Anhui Yuanchen Environmental Protection Science&Technology Co., Ltd.

Expert panel members, including representatives from prominent organizations and institutes, assessed the research background, technical solutions, and practical applications of the filter media. The evaluation recognized its effectiveness in achieving ultra-low emissions of high humidity and high dust flue gas in the iron and steel industry.

The innovative technology incorporates polyphenylene sulfide fiber waterproof and oil-proof modification, premixed fiber gradient structure design, and a waterproof and oil-proof grade 5 super hydrophobic filter media with 99.99% dust removal efficiency.

It successfully addresses the challenges of semi-dry desulfurization, including high humidity, high dust concentration, and corrosive conditions, while meeting stringent requirements for ultra-low emissions. Currently, the filter media is being used in the semi-dry desulfurization process of sintering machines in renowned steel plants, such as Anhui Changjiang Iron and Steel Company Limited, Xuzhou Southeast Iron and Steel Industry Company Limited, and Baowu Group Echeng Iron and Steel Company Limited, resulting in dust emission concentrations below 5mg/Nm3 and ensuring long-term stable operation.
