On July 30, 2022 Carbon Neutral - Zero Carbon China Summit and the 5th China Energy Investment International Forum was held in Beijing. With the theme of "Technology Innovation - Cross-border Integration - International Interconnection", the summit focused on the "Double Carbon Goal", focusing on the energy industry, laying out a new track of carbon emission reduction, and accelerating the promotion of technological innovation, industrial innovation and business model innovation in the green low-carbon field. At the meeting, the "Zero Carbon China" evaluation standard compilation work and the "Zero Carbon China" evaluation standard system special committee were formally established, and Xu Hui, Chairman of Yuanchen Technology, was selected as an expert of the "Zero Carbon China" evaluation standard committee. Achieving peak carbon by 2030 and carbon neutrality by 2060 (hereinafter referred to as "double carbon") is a major strategic decision for China. The implementation of the "double carbon" strategy urgently requires the comprehensive support of natural science, technology, humanities and social sciences. Among them, the current basic science challenges and key technology bottlenecks are mainly reflected in six aspects: the selection and optimization of the "double carbon" path with top-level strategic significance; the construction of policies and management systems to support the top-level strategy; the scientific principles and scientific data to support strategic decisions and action plans; the reshaping of energy structure with a central position; and the reshaping of industrial structure based on the new energy system. Although there are many explorations on low-carbon or green factories at home and abroad, there is often a lack of clear and authoritative standards to guide the construction or transformation of factories, which leads to "no target". In particular, these explorations often focus only on energy saving and carbon reduction, but have not yet established scientific long-term goals, no effective digital management mechanism, and a lack of economic zero carbon closed-loop initiatives.
The purpose of this meeting is to strengthen the basic research on the above six aspects, and to optimize and improve the "Double Carbon" strategic path and fully realize the "Zero Carbon" strategy.
